Salted Dark Chocolate Popcorn





Ingredients

2 tablespoons of popcorn kernels
2 tablespoons of coconut oil
1 1/2 teaspoons of raw cacao powder
1 tablespoon of rice malt syrup
A large pinch of sea salt

Method

1. In a large saucepan with a lid, heat half the coconut oil (1 tablespoon) over high heat, once melted add the popcorn kernels and cook (with the lid on), shaking the pan often. Once you hear the last kernels pop, remove from the heat.

2. Mix the remaining coconut oil with the cacao powder, rice malt syrup, and sea salt and then heat gently in a small saucepan or in the microwave until melted.

3. Add the sauce to the cooked popcorn and toss to combine.

4. Add salt and spread out on a small tray and refrigerate until firm.

*Once you have made the popcorn you can also bake the whole lot at 120℃ for 30 minutes, stirring frequently for a crispier version.
